Privacy Policy
Your numbers stay yours.
Tip Hunter is built to be private. Here is the whole policy, in plain language.
Effective June 1, 2026
The short version
Tip Hunter collects no personal data. It has no analytics and no third-party trackers. You can open it and start hunting right away — there's nothing to sign up for. The numbers you collect are yours to keep and curate.
What we collect
Nothing. We do not ask for your name, email, or any account to use the app. We do not collect usage data, device identifiers, location, or analytics. There is no advertising and no profiling.
Where your field guide lives
The bills you type and the specimens you collect are stored on your iPhone. Tip Hunter does not upload them to us. If we ever add optional features like iCloud sync, backup, or sharing a catch with a friend, they will be exactly that — optional, clearly labeled, and under your control. We'll update this policy before any such feature ships.
Calculations happen on your device
Tip Hunter does its hunting on your device and doesn't require an internet connection to find beautiful totals. It does not sell or share your information with anyone.
Purchases
Tip Hunter is sold through the Apple App Store as a one-time purchase. Any payment is handled entirely by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy and terms; we never see your payment details. We do not receive personal information about you from a purchase.
iCloud & backups
If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your iPhone, your app data may be included in your encrypted device backup, managed by Apple. This is controlled entirely by your iOS settings and Apple's privacy policy — not by Tip Hunter.
Children
Tip Hunter does not collect data from anyone, including children. It is suitable for all ages and requires no personal information to use.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Because the app collects no data, we don't anticipate material changes.
Who makes Tip Hunter
Tip Hunter is made by Brett Francis, an individual developer. If you have any questions about privacy, email support@tiphunter.app.
